Elizabeth Jones, the former town clerk was arrested in 2009. The arrest occurred after ex-mayor Martha Andrus discovered that over $40 thousand in checks were made payable to Jones from the city's general fund. Jones pleaded guilty Monday to all five counts of felony theft today in court. She has been sentenced to ten years in prison, but will be eligible for parole after four years. After her sentence, Jones will be forced to pay back $47 thousand in restitution.
