The Louisiana Master Gardener Program is a service and educational activity offered by the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service. The program is designed to recruit and train volunteers to help meet the educational needs of home gardeners while providing an enjoyable and worthwhile service experience for volunteers.
Experienced and beginning gardeners seeking up-to-date horticultural information can advance their gardening expertise and gain self-satisfaction through volunteer efforts. Classes will begin on March 2nd and conclude on May 25th each Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Lomax Hall on Louisiana Tech Campus.
Individuals interested in becoming a master gardener should call the Lincoln Parish Cooperative Extension Office, a branch of the LSU AgCenter, at 251-5134, log on to www.lsuagcenter.com/lincoln or stop by 201 N. Vienna St. in Ruston, LA to pick up an application. Applications will be taken until the class is filled.
