Love & Forgiveness

The acts of forgiveness and unconditional love are only hard if we decide they are hard. I don’t recall Jesus ever saying it was hard to do those things.

SELF makes it hard, but the Lord makes that burden easy once we choose to love and forgive. Our acts of forgiveness and love have nothing to do with whether the one who offended us deserves it or not.

Forgiveness and love are Godly attributes that make us more like Jesus and they are more so for US, to set US free whether the one who offended us receives it or not. The choice is ours as to whether we will become BETTER from the experience or become BITTER.

We can forgive people and love them God’s way without letting them make door mats out of us. With God’s help, we can maintain Godly relationships with those who offended us, and show acts of genuine kindness, praying for them, etc. without letting them get too close, and let the love of God overflow from us on to them until either they melt down and surrender to God or until they can’t stand it any more and flee!

None of us have suffered unto blood like Jesus did when they whipped Him all night long and hung Him on that old rugged cross. Yet He said “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.”

No matter what anybody has done to us – Godly acts of unconditional love and forgiveness are not dictated by how bad they offended us or how bad they made us feel (human emotion), but these are higher acts of our will, prompted by the Holy Ghost.

This is nothing but a wonderful opportunity to exercise Christ-likeness!

Be Immensely Blessed & Be Made Free – Amen!!
