Manifestations Of The Sons Of God
In a Bible study lesson conducted by Dr. Creflo A. Dollar which aired Dec. 2, 2009, he outlined the characteristics sons (children) of God will display while living in the earth. It’s one thing to be ‘Born Again’ and quite another to actually grow and mature into that new spiritual life. God manifests Himself through His very own people; people whom He can use because they have matured into their son-ship.
“Therefore, bretheren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh. For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die; but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:12-14″
Dr. Dollar outlined 10 characteristics of the Sons of God:
1) Sons of God are led by the Spirit of God.
2) Sons of God have manifestations of the Word.
3) Sons of God operate like Jesus.
4) Sons of God overcome temptations.
5) Sons of God are God-conscious and not self-conscious.
6) Sons of God seek revelation and understanding through bible study etc.
7) Sons of God can’t be offended.
8) Sons of God are not envious, jealous, unforgiving, back-biters, strife-filled, etc.
9) Sons of God walk in the God kind of love.
10) Signs and wonders follow the Sons of God – not magic, but supernatural things happening as a result of prayer and obedience to God’s Word – you speak and have what you say (Mark 11:22-24).
11) Sons of God put away childish things.
12) Sons of God cultivate understanding.
13) Sons of God love change.
Dr. Dollar went on to say, “Sons of God are men and women who willed by the power of God bring deliverance and liberty to mankind. When you are Born Again, you have potential power, but when you grow into ’son-ship’ then that potential power is realized; it manifests into physical reality. Your son-ship equals manifestations.”
“Sons of God are those who will disarm the forces of wickedness, and bring the creature out of the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the Sons of God.”
Sons of God are those who through the understanding of their divine nature can operate like God on earth; exercising total dominion over all issues of life, bringing deliverance to many – and all things shall be possible with Sons of God. These are those who have finally accepted WHO THEY ARE.
They act like God on the earth! They bind tornadoes, they tell earthquakes to quit, they command multiplication to show up: they walk like Jesus did when He walked on the earth (because they have been empowered and authorized by God to do so!)
“The Son of God became the Son of Man so that the sons of men could become the Sons of God! Somebody’s got to start binding and loosing, somebody’s got to start casting devils out! Somebody’s got to start laying hands on the sick to get them healed! Somebody’s got to start acting like Jesus did when He was on the earth. We’re in covenant with Him! The key: Sons of God hear God’s voice. You can’t do any of those things unless you hear God’s voice.”
In this mighty teaching, we discovered that everything Jesus did, He did it to be a real life example to His followers of what it means to be a Son of God; what it means to be Christ-like. We possess His Spirit, His very consciousness! But we must be able to trust the Holy Ghost within and cultivate that relationship. Otherwise we will be limited.
We must be in a constant state of maturity, learn from our mistakes, put everything we’ve learned together and make ourselves available for the next supernatural thing that God wants us to do. He wants to use us to perform supernatural acts in the earth!
Supernatural debt release, supernatural healing, supernatural restoration of relationships, multiplication of prosperity – things that people who are on the outside looking in will KNOW it only could have been God who did it!
We are here to draw others to Christ, to deliver others from their bondage in order for us all to go into the Promised Land together! But if we are all tied up and limited by the confines of this sinful flesh, our traditions, and the humanistic way we think, then we have no witness, we have no power and we are only victims of our circumstances rather than victors.
It makes no sense to complain about what the devil is doing, about the high crime rates all around us, about the high unemployment, bad economy, swine flu, chronic illnesses, poverty and natural disasters that take place in the world when God has empowered US to counter these evil forces. These evil forces will prevail in the earth when the Sons of God fail to exercise their God-given dominion according to His voice of instruction.
Pastor Dollar ended his lesson by saying: “We’re not going under. We’re going over the top! Now is the time to get intense, now is the time to put it together. This is not the time to shrink away, this is not the time to back up and lose heart, this is not the time to give up, cave in and quit!
This is the time to make yourself show up to prayer, make yourself show up to fellowship, make yourself pray when you don’t feel like praying! You not feeling like praying ain’t got nothin’ to do with it – this is the time, this is the opportunity. The whole earth is waiting for the Sons of God by birth to become the Sons of God by manifestation!”
In conclusion, the abundant life of wholeness that Jesus promised us is found here:
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to the spirutally minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in theflesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. Romans 8:6-9″
“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. John 6:63″
“But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty. Matthew 13:23″
Jesus revealed how we are to live by the Spirit. The Spirit, His Spirit, the Spirit of God, the Spirit of Christ, that same Spirit by which Christians are to live by, the Spirit who lives in our hearts and who seeks to lead and guide us – His Holy Spirit is found in the very words that God Himself speaks.
We must position ourselves to hear God speak, and then receive those words in our heart, plant them and cultivate them there like seeds in order that God can manifest His glory into the physical realm of our lives.
We must make the conscious choice to read the Bible, pray and hear from God, and be taught by a God-sent preacher because these are the things that build God consciousness in our heart. When we need Him, He’s already there in our hearts to lead, guide and comfort us because we cultivated that relationship with Him ahead of time.
Who will actually become a Son of God and walk like Jesus did in the earth? Who will exercise God’s power and dominion in this earth realm? Who will live a vibrant, peace-filled and prosperous life? Most certainly not the linear-thinking ‘religious’ Christians who just go to church; only the REAL Christians, only the abstract Spirit-led Bible studying, praying, teachable Christians who have a real, personal, and intimate relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ.
Manifestation begins when we who are the Sons of God hear God’s voice, and by faith we do what God tells us to do minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day. What is the Spirit saying to the Church, what is the Spirit saying to your heart right now?
